Where it all started
Bus 4×4 group was founded in Brisbane in 2011 with the objective to meet the growing demand in Australia for 4×4 people moving vehicles. Initially building and hiring out vehicles to major industry bodies in remote areas, it was in 2014 that we decided to investigate which vehicles were best suited to 4×4 conversions. During the discovery process, it became clear that Toyota Coaster and Toyota HiAce vehicles were the ones to focus our efforts on. Ever since then, we have continued to refine the 4×4 conversion kits and introduced the sale of complete vehicles directly to the consumer.
Time for expansion
2016 saw us expand our customer base with the addition of 4×4 products and accessories to our range locally. We also began to explore overseas manufacturing options to potentially provide a more diverse range of products.
By 2018, we were ready for further expansion and started to set the foundations for an Australia wide presence and signed up our first domestic distributors in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, both of which are still with us today. We also began evaluating international partnerships in Africa, Papua New Guinea, and the United Arab Emirates.
Realignment for future growth
The events of 2020 prompted us to take the time to refine our offering and prepare Bus 4×4 for the future growth we wanted for the business. A detailed Market Analysis and Brand Repositioning Strategy was prepared as well as identifying core product lines which resulted in individual brands for Bus 4×4 Go Kit, Hire, Kitshop, and Global. This allowed us to introduce complementary product lines, streamline operations, meet market demands, market directly to key audiences, and increase profitability.
In 2022, our focus was to strengthen our relationships with key supply chain partners and to significantly increase our warehousing capacity which allowed us to meet market demand and allow for future growth. We also engaged industry experts to enhance business opportunities and employed highly skilled managers to effectively grow individual departments within the business.
Moving Forward
With our sights on further growth both nationally and internationally, our vision is to continue to deliver quality products with 100% customer satisfaction. This means an ongoing dedication to research and development, effective marketing and lead generation, automation of business processes and practices to increase productivity and efficiencies and driving a positive workplace culture and happy team members.
